COMBIS started the Agile Certification

spundak120COMBIS Project Management team plays an important role in project excellence, and the latest news in the department is the prestigious PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) certificate. This is an important certificate, which possess only 15 experts in Croatia and 15.000 experts worldwide, and recently, even two colleagues at COMBIS.

PMI-ACP is an important certification for project management professionals with an emphasis on application of agile methodologies. This certification brings a high degree of professional integrity, global recognition and is an important leverage for delivering efficient project delivery, which is a priority for all serious market players.

Agility represents abandonment of a traditional approach to project management (i.e. original software development) where the emphasis was on planning and definition of applications, detailed specification and certification of specifications before software development, which for a consequence often had late delivery of inadequate software that did not meet the actual business needs of the user.

Agility in project management implies a number of methods for developing business solutions that aim to increase efficiency throughout faster deliveries, i.e. improve project team performance, collaboration of teams, streamlining work and increasing customer satisfaction for both the business users, as well as the companies and teams that practice this approach.

Agility is definitely the future in project management and a way how organizations will work standardly in the future. Although primarily conceived for software development projects, lately, and in view of the positive results, agile project management is applied in virtually all areas and industries.

A new wave of certification in COMBIS

Employees of COMBIS working on project management are recognized and certified experts, who continue to further develop by following trends. Thus, along with Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, which is a de facto standard for project managers, more recently focus is on development competencies in project management and agile approaches, not only within project management departments, but also widespread through the whole organization.

Additionally, at the end of June, there are more COMBIS employees who have passed the Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) training and have become (or will) become the holders of this certificate, thus initiating a new wave of certification in this area, so we can conclude that because of all this, the process of introducing agility into COMBIS has started.

It should also be recalled that at the PMI Forum, the largest gathering of project leaders in Croatia, which was held at the end of last year, COMBIS was awarded with a special charter for excellence in running the ComDebts project.

"Project management, software and portfolio management certainly represents one of the most important competencies of each organization, as it provides focus on priorities and delivery efficiency. Appropriate use of the agile approach to project management can additionally contribute to customer satisfaction, especially in the face of ambiguous and complex requirements, thereby contributing to the overall success of the project both for the user as well as COMBIS”, commented Mario Špundak, Head of Project Management Office at COMBIS.
